Dear Contestants and Formers,
We are working on a TV Docuseries to be filmed in 2021 around the Miss Gay America pageant. Docutainment, the producers of “Pageant” the film will be working on this series with us. The network would like video and pictures of former national titleholders that plan to attend this year’s pageant and contestants that plan to compete in the 2021-22 season of the Miss Gay America pageant.
This series will focus on the history and future of the Miss Gay America pageant as we celebrate our 50-year anniversary.
They will need a video of one of your performances, a photo of you out of drag and in drag. Preferably headshots or promotional quality photos. You do not have to have a professional photo at this point out of drag, but a good quality photo with a plain background is preferred. Also, include your contact information and a brief statement about you and how you got started in the art of female impersonation and why you are competing for Miss Gay America and for formers, what was special about being Miss Gay America to you.
This can be emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by January 24, 2021, but the sooner the better. If the files are too large you may put links to dropbox or other file sharing sites that do not expire as we may need to access the material for a longer period of time.
We may reach out to a handful of people to do zoom interviews with the production company.
Please note that this does not in any way impact pageant results. This is so that the network and production staff may see the people involved.
Promoters, please forward this to any contestants that may be planning to complete this year.
